  2. Process all ingredients (beetroot, apple, carrot, turmeric) except lemon alternatively through the juicer.
  3. Squeeze the half lemon into prepared juice and stir well.
  4. Serve.

Finally, when fruits and vegetables are juiced, the oxidation process accelerates, which can potentially create harmful bacteria if the juice is left sitting for too long. The produce also loses its nutrients much faster than whole fruits and vegetables. Consuming these superfoods alone is insufficient, a balance diet is a good practice and engaging in physical activity, such as exercising or working out in the gym.

Thanks for this post, very informative and leading with the explanation of what superfoods actually are is great for anyone who has just heard that superfoods are good for you, but not actually aware of why or even what they are. I personally love incorporating berries, nuts and leafy green veggies into my diet with the occasional green tea. The recipes at the end are awesome as well, simple and affective. Great post!!
